about ATOMIC

"Like rifling through your coolest friend's record collection except with more drinking options and more people to dance with..." - The Package, #315, 15-21 December 2005

Atomic is Wellington's long(est) running new wave, new romance & synth pop night. Begun in the dim dark past at the old Bodega on Willis Street, Atomic now calls the San Francisco Bath House on Cuba Street its home. It has consistently scratched the itch of those who have a genuine love of music, and a desperate need to dance. The music played covers Punk and its beginnings through to New Wave, Post Punk/Indie, New Romance, early Synth Pop, through to the heights of pure chart pop.

Not your run-of-the-mill 'Retro-80's night', Atomic is put together with a love for all of the music played, and a huge collection of vinyl.

To get an idea of what is played, take a look around at some of the recent setlists & judge for yourself. Where else are you going to hear artists as diverse as Throbbing Gristle & Nik Kershaw on the same night?
